The reporter learned from the Qinghai Provincial Department of Natural Resources on the 8th that 68 ecological restoration projects of mines left over by history, including Zhongling Village, Jingyang Town, Datong County, Xining City, met the conditions for the support of the central financial transfer payment (special funds for key ecological protection, restoration and governance) in 2021, and were included in the key ecological governance projects in 2021.

According to the reporter of China News Network, the above 68 projects are concentrated in eight cities and prefectures, including Xining, Haidong, Huangnan, Guoluo, Yushu, Haixi, Haibei and Hainan. Most of them are abandoned mines left by the history of sand mining and quarries, as well as gold, iron, coal, tungsten and antimony mines.

The above-mentioned project is planned to control an area of 2152 hectares, with the approved budget of more than 200 million yuan.

In addition, according to the reporter's previous understanding, the environmental restoration and treatment of historical mines in Qinghai Province began in 2003. After nearly 20 years of unremitting efforts, the environmental restoration and treatment of historical abandoned mines in the province has achieved remarkable results. Among them, from 2003 to 2016, the treatment area reached 14600 hectares. Since 2017, the environmental restoration and treatment of abandoned mines left over by history has accelerated.
