Fiberglass floating box

Following its Vietnam project, Wuhan University of Technology Innovative FRP Technology Development Co., Ltd. has undertaken another large-scale project: the construction of collision‑avoidance facilities for bridge piers and columns. The primary challenges lie in the offshore installation and subsequent post‑installation treatment. The specific technical requirements and process standards are as follows:
  1. This FRP project is the vessel‑impact protection system for the Zhubugang Xiangjiang Bridge.
  2. The FRP bridge crash‑barrier box is constructed entirely of fiberglass, with locally reinforced steel components, and is manufactured using a split‑mold forming process.
  3. The fiberglass‑reinforced plastic (FRP) bridge crash‑barrier has an outer side thickness of 10 mm, a top surface thickness of 5 mm, and a uniform thickness of 8 mm elsewhere; the internal cushioning elements are 4 mm thick, and all structural components are externally clad with 5‑mm‑thick FRP.
  4. All internal and external corners of the FRP crash barrier are rounded with a radius of R20.
  5. The protective fender connectors are reinforced with 5-mm-thick steel plates, feature pre‑installed M30 bolt protrusions, and are entirely sealed and strengthened with fiberglass to ensure watertight performance.
  6. To ensure the aesthetic appearance of the FRP crash‑worthy container, lifting embedded components are precast inside the container. These embedded components consist of steel plates welded to M24 nuts, with an outer layer of FRP for secure fixation and reinforcement.
  7. The fiberglass anti-collision container has a glossy exterior and is colored traffic red.
  8. Product service life: 15 years
